Cloud Computing Leaders On The Wave – Part 2: Experts To Follow and Inspire From

In every industry, there are several figures that inspire with their knowledge and experience. In a recent article, I discussed the top cloud computing providers and why I consider them the best in the industry. Today, I would like to start a discussion about the most inspiring people in the cloud computing industry.

The following are the people I follow the most:

1. David S. Linthicum – @DavidLinthicum

His description from Twitter – Cloud Computing Visionary summarizes David well. He is the CTO and founder of Cloud Technology Partners, a famous international blogger, speaker and consultant. David is the author of 13 books on computing and writes the Cloud Computing blog for InfoWorld. He is a thought leader in the industry and is frequently named one of the top 10 enterprise technologist in the world by leading technology publications.

2. Ray Wang – @rwang0

Ray Wang is the Principal Analyst and CEO at Constellation Research, Inc and writes the  enterprise software blog “A Software Insider’s Point of View”. Popular publications including Forbes, Bloomberg, Harvard Business Review, Business Week, ZDNet, TechTarget, The Wall Street Journal quote his insight into cloud computing and research. He also was a founding partner and research analyst for enterprise strategy at Altimeter Group.

3. Jeremy Geelan – @jg21

President and COO of Cloud Expo, Inc. and Conference Chair of the Cloud Expo Conferences. Speaker and executive producer and presenter of Cloud Expo’s Power Panels on SYS-CON.Tv. He is definitely a person I would recommend listening to.

4. Duncan Epping – @DuncanYB

Principal Architect at VMware, focused on vCloud / vSphere architecture and integration. Duncan is one the first VMware Certified Design Experts (VCDX 007) and the main author and owner of the VMware/Virtualization blog Yellow-Bricks.com. He is also the co-author of several books on the topic.

5. Sramana Mitra – @sramana

Silicon Valley entrepreneur and founder of One Million by One Million program, created to help a million entrepreneurs globally to reach a million dollars in annual revenue, build $1 trillion in global GDP, and create 10 million jobs. She has also been a columnist for Forbes and written Entrepreneur Journeys.  Sramana’s efforts are helping fuel many new companies in the cloud computing space.
